The New York Classical Players and The Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center launch a series of immersive concerts that promise a new perspective into Ludwig van Beethoven’s revolutionary chamber music. Enjoy an up-close viewing of a page from Beethoven’s own sketchbook, where masterful pen strokes show experiments with motives and voicing for string quartet Op. 18 no. 2. Hear impassioned, dynamic performances within the intimate and acoustically vibrant Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. In between works, participate in an illuminating conversation with the performers and other special guests. In this first Beethoven Encounters program, The New York Classical players perform three of Beethoven early quartets, Opus 18 nos. 6, 3, and 2.
