Chamber Music Series 1

I-Jung Huang, violin
Stephanie Zyzak, violin
En-Chi Cheng, viola
Madeline Fayette, cello

Among The New York Public Library’s treasures is a draft of the Declaration of Independence. The same longing for liberty and equality that inspired Thomas Jefferson also inspired composers of the enlightenment to invent a revolutionary new genre of music: the string quartet. The New York Classical Players perform quartets by Haydn and Beethoven, accompanied by recitations of writing by Jefferson, Schiller, and Locke. Beethoven and Haydn manuscripts will be displayed in a special lobby case exhibition.
