Schubert loved to compose vocal music and Death and the Maiden named from composer’s own song written in 1817 of the same title. It has since been a favorite of audiences and performers around the world alike. It’s a model of containing lush melodies and sublime harmonies. Carol’s technical brilliance, incredible sound and passionate playing style stands to premiering a blissful new flute concerto by Elliott Bark, one of sought after young composers of today. In addition, NYCP’s music director Dongmin Kim conducts Charterhouse Suite by Vaughan Williams.
