The New York Classical Players’ sixth season opens with a collaboration with incomparable clarinetist Charles Neidich, performing as soloist in both Nielsen’s beloved Concerto and a virtuoso work of his own composition. On either side of these works will be repertoire which showcases NYCP’s versatility and flexibility as an elite chamber orchestra.  The program opens with Mozart’s Divertimento in B-flat, an early composition which nonetheless displays the elegance, wittiness and inventiveness which characterizes his work. At the close of the program is Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, a work beloved for its deep romanticism, high drama and thrilling scope.
